B Train – Sixth Avenue Express (NYC Subway)

The B Train is an orange-line express service running on weekdays only. It connects the Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn via the IND Sixth Avenue Line and the Brighton Line. The B Train is popular for its fast commute between Upper Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn, operating express in both boroughs.

🏗️ History

The B Train began in the 1940s under the IND system and has undergone several changes. In its current form, it provides weekday express service via the Sixth Avenue corridor and the BMT Brighton Line. It’s one of the few weekday-only lines in the system.
